Dear Parents and Student-Athletes:
Adams 12 Five Star Schools does not provide transportation for student-athletes to all athletic
events. As a result, athletes and parents will assume responsibility for transporting yourselves or
your student athlete to and from some events.
The bulleted items below are the travel procedures for the 2024-2025 school year:
• Transportation will not be provided for competitions or events within 10 driving miles of your
home school.
• Transportation will not be provided during normal school bus route hours (2:00-5:00 p.m. on
weekdays).
• No transportation will be provided for athletic events held on Saturdays. Multi-day postseason
competitions may be exceptions to this procedure.
In cases where the travel is more than 10 miles, the district plans to provide transportation,
however, it may be at a reduced capacity or with earlier drop-off times and shuttle services
(weekdays only). Athletes and families will have to provide their own transportation to and from
contests on Saturdays.
Transportation will not be provided for competitions that occur within our school district
boundaries. The furthest distance between schools during in-district competition is Legacy High
School to Thornton High School (9.6 miles). In cases when a particular sport requires that
student-athletes are suited up at their home school location and they are wearing equipment that
could interfere with driving safety, exceptions will be made to the procedure and transportation
will be provided.
Coaches will share transportation schedules with you. The athletic secretary at your school will
have the transportation schedules and the athletic schedules.
